Fathers from My Youth

Being an African American father in the 70s and the beginning of the 80s, was not very popular.  Most of the media, including both news and art depicted young black men fatherless and completely out of control.  Media such as Boyz n the Hood and the evening news in most major cities.  So many of my family and friends did not have dad’s.  And some of those that did have a father that found he was committed to being their dad, which create other issues for daughters.
